Events and Community Highlights

Thank you to everyone for your support last week at our annual fundraiser, we hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did.

£12,000 of the fundraiser was prepledged and will be awarded to your chosen research element with The British Heart Foundation to fund 2.5 months’ research to grow new blood vessels, in honour and loving memory of Nick ’the vicar’ Bealer.

Enjoy the memories:

Another fantastic evening was had on this special celebration occasion with over 330 City folk in attendance on 19 July 2018 at the Grange St Paul’s for the Vets 60th anniversary annual charity dinner. Special thanks to returning core sponsor CBOE who again helped the night off to a positive start with its welcome reception drinks. Particular thanks also to gold sponsor, Novum Securities for their first time support along with the likes of Shore Capital, SVS Securities and Winterfloods for their brilliant table presences and backing. Band Theft Audio provided the entertainment with their unique cover package once the formal part of the evening had concluded.

Guests were reminded of the numbers and range of good causes which the Vets had been able to support over the past year. There were also powerful speeches by retiring Chairman, Nick Bealer and committee members Stacey Parsons and Zoe Alexander with their calls for action on taking the Vets forward. The auction was amazing with returning MC and auctioneer extraordinaire Russ Williams helping ensure a diamond event with about £25,000 raised in the auction alone.

Noteworthy thanks must also go to Forever Digital, Grosvenor Print, Frank Thompson, the Grange Hotel and all table hosts, auction donors and successful bidders plus supporters. The tables were packed the atmosphere was fantastic and so many City faces! It was a really great night that will go down in history of City events with around £40,000 in total being raised for good causes.

Another fantastic evening was had by over 370 City folk on 15 June 2017 at The Grange St. Paul’s for the Vets annual charity dinner. Core and returning sponsor, Bats Europe helped get the night off to a positive start with its welcome reception drinks with Libby Shone and her band returning by popular demand for the entertainment after the formal part of the evening had finished

Guests were reminded of the record 100 worthy local and regional causes which the Vets have supported since June 2016 to the present, and their response to the Vets appeal for new funds was truly amazing. MC and auctioneer Russ Williams helped ensure the Vets were able to raise around £38,000, including £7,000 which has been donated to the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire. Special thanks must also go to Forever Digital, Grosvenor Print, Hazel Dunlop, The Grange Hotel and all table hosts, auction donors and successful bidders for making the event a great success again in the City diary.
